our estate

The estate is located in the picturesque village of Villanueva del Fresno, in Badajoz (Spain). This is a recent project covering more than 300 hectares of aromatic crops, both rainfed and irrigated.

Cultivated Species

The main species cultivated on the estate are:

Cistus (Cistus ladanifer)

Laurel (Laurus nobilis)

Lavanda luisieri (Lavandula stoechas sp luisieri)

Bitter orange (Citrus x aurantium)

Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis)

Sage (Salvia officinalis)

Thyme (Thymus vulgaris)

White Thyme (Thymus mastichina)

Mediterranean Thyme (Thymus hyemalis)

These plants have been carefully selected for their adaptability to the local climate and their high value in the production of essential oils and other natural products.

SUSTAINABILITY

The estate is specially designed to carry out production using sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.

Its carbon footprint is also minimal, as a large part of the production process is powered by electricity generated through solar panels, promoting a clean and efficient energy model.

COMMITMENT TO EMPLOYMENT AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT

The estate, located in Extremadura, stands as a true driver of change for the local community, addressing challenges such as unemployment, aging populations, and rural depopulation.

Through the Biottonia-Essences project, we are committed to creating local jobs, with over 7,000 workdays generated in the past year. This initiative provides new opportunities for young people, helps curb forced migration, and actively contributes to the region’s economic and social development.
