At Biottonia-Essences, traceability begins in the field.
We cultivate our own aromatic plants on farms located in Spain, Portugal, and Angola, following sustainable practices and maintaining technical control from planting to harvest. Each plot is georeferenced and linked to an internal recording system that allows us to identify:

• The timing of planting and harvesting.

• Monitoring of climatic and agronomic conditions throughout the crop cycle.

• The type of management: conventional or certified organic.

Our cultivation management practices enable us to obtain the highest essential oil quality for each species and variety grown on our farms.

EXTRACTION

The extraction process is carried out at the source, in our own facilities, using steam distillation. Each distillation batch is directly linked to its corresponding agricultural lot, ensuring uninterrupted traceability.

We have a simultaneous distillation capacity of 140 m³, positioning us among the largest steam distillers in Europe. This industrial capacity allows us to meet the needs of both large-scale projects and specialized technical productions.

We monitor critical variables such as:

• Distillation time and temperature

• Type of still and vegetal load

• Production volume per batch

• Phase separation (hydrosol / essential oil)

Each distillation is documented by batch, and every sample is analyzed in our laboratory to ensure that the resulting oil maintains its chemical profile (chemotype) and meets the defined physicochemical and sensory parameters.

Each essential or vegetable oil produced is identified, stored, and inertized according to its extraction batch. From there, a complete technical dossier is generated for each batch, including:

• COA (Certificate of Analysis)

• Technical Data Sheet

• Safety Data Sheet

This level of traceability makes our oils safe, consistent, and reliable ingredients for aromatic, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical formulations.
