Sustainability Policy and Environmental Commitment

At Biottonia-Essences, sustainability is the foundation of everything we do. We are committed to maintaining responsible production practices that respect the environment and protect the natural resources we hold dear.

1. Sustainable Production and Environmental Responsibility

We ensure that each phase of our process, from cultivation to packaging, minimizes environmental impact. We use renewable energy in our facilities, with solar panel systems that cover the electricity needs for both the factory and irrigation installations.

2. Circular Economy 

We strive to make our activity zero waste, following what is commonly called the circular economy. For example, plant residues from essential oil distillation are used as biomass for dehydrating the next batches of aromatic plants. Considering all the CO2 absorbed by our plantations, we are likely a company that removes greenhouse gases from the atmosphere through its operations.

3. Biodiversity Preservation and CO₂ Recovery

Our plantations help absorb CO₂ from the atmosphere, contributing to the mitigation of climate change. Additionally, we promote the preservation of local biodiversity and carefully select the species we grow to adapt harmoniously to the environment.

4. Local and International Commitment

We actively work towards the sustainable development of the communities where we operate, both in Extremadura (Spain) and in Humpata (Angola). In addition to creating jobs, we support local farmers by providing training and supervision to cultivate more sustainably and profitably.
